“my friends call me sixt”

Trembling in a locker room sits SIXT, willing to do anything to skip swimming with the rest of the class. With your help, Sixt avoids this crisis, but ends up swimming in raw sewage instead!
Exploring an astonishing underground world, it doesn’t take Sixt long to get in trouble again. But that’s nothing compared to the sheer magnitude of madness lurking behind the corner…
Ahead of you lies an intercontinental adventure, full of incredible locations and a weirdly wonderful group of characters.
ARE YOU insightful enough to guide Sixt through heaven and hell while both…

“it takes some doing”

2008

The original idea arises while replaying The Secret of Monkey Island and developing a web riddle called Swell. We come up with some of the things that will be there in the final game, too – including the name of the protagonist, some puzzle ideas and the setting of the game.

2020

After a long, long hiatus, everything changes as COVID-19 stops the world. We come to a realization: It’s now or never. Lots of new ideas are sparking. A dozen people join the project. The script for the demo is written in the form of a walkthrough document. Actual game development begins.

2021-22

Key personnel including a dedicated coder and a magnificient background artist are found. It’s decided the game will be realized with Unity and Adventure Creator to enable publishing for many platforms eventually. We begin creating the actual game project.

2025

All the most important mechanics of the full game will be working. A playable demo of the game will be released, possibly together with a Kickstarter campaign. We dive deep into the creation of the rest of the game.

“by WHOM?”

WHOM, indeed. I wouldn’t have guessed you know about that…
Ok, that’s an in-joke – one you can’t possibly understand yet. But you will… YOU WILL.
Sixtus Flaming in the Far Reaches of the World will be produced by 6th Fire and Amazement.
6th Fire, the creative team behind the game is a dynamic group of designers, coders, graphicians and musicians led by luuk.
Originally, we were a very small group of Finns. This project demanded widening our horizons. As a result, some exquisite new blood (both domestic and foreign) has been added to the mix. The team’s only previous major creation is a web riddle of 100 levels called Swell.
LucasArts classics like The Secret of Monkey Island and its sequel were childhood-defining experiences for most of us. Now – decades later – we’re finally fulfilling our dream to create an adventure game that can stand on its own – next to the incredible masterpieces that made us who we are.
Amazement is luuk’s film production company, which will expand into a video game developer (in a true LucasFilm fashion!) as the game nears completion.
ARTTU HAGLUND / luuk – project leader

An award-winning film director, luuk has been dreaming about this project since the early 90s. He came up with the original idea for this game back in 2008 with Vield. luuk is the lead developer, lead designer and lead writer of this project, working also as a sprites pixel artist. For more background info, check out his (rarely updated) personal site.

TUOMAS KORPI – concept artist

One of the founders and the creative director of Helsinki-based animation and illustration studio Piñata, Tuomas is our amazing concept artist. See more of his awe-inspiring work on his personal site.

ZHANG TIANQI / anokaki – background pixel artist

anokaki is an awesome pixel artist hailing from China. Right now he’s working on backgrounds and animation but the truth is, there’s really no limit to what he can pull off. Don’t miss out on a chance to follow him on Twitter.

CHELSEA FAUST / Chel – character pixel artist

A true master of feminine beauty and soft colours in pixel art, our American reinforcement Chel uses her magic to bring forth some impeccable character art. For more of her work, be sure to follow her on Twitter or Instagram.

CHRIS MORTON – music composer, sound designer

A British adventure game fan since the days of Maniac Mansion on a C64, Chris has worked on sound for Rockstar North’s games like the GTA series and EA’s Madden and NBA games. His heart has always been in P&C adventures, though. This is the first time he’s doing one.

PERTTU VÄNSKÄ / Peewee – music composer

A professional music composer and sound designer, Peewee is one of our fantastic music composers for the game. His notable previous game projects include Brawl Stars, Legend of Grimrock 2 and Druidstone. Visit his personal site for some ear candy.

JARKKO ROTSTÉN / Roz – music composer

A demoscene musician since the early 90s with endless accolades to his credit, Roz‘s biggest project so far has been the OST for Ion Fury (3D Realms/Voidpoint). Check out his personal site here. A very big fan of Monkey Island, he thinks that game music should be more than just background texture. So say we all!

LAURA KOPONEN / Vield – designer, concept artist

A creative mind with the original idea, Vield also came up with the protagonist’s name and the first visualization of the character. The work continues as an occasional designer and concept artist.
